PERTH HORSE DENTISTRY & VETERINARY SERVICES is a mobile equine dental and veterinary practice, covering the Perth metro and regional WA.
Dr Thomas Hamilton is a qualified vet who went on to specialise as an equine dentist.
He’s experienced in the full range of equine dental procedures, as well as veterinary procedures such as drenching, microchipping, blood tests, liver fluke sampling and wound care.

Tom prefers to visit patients in their home environment as not all equines are able to travel safely and calmly.
When required, he uses the facilities of specialist veterinary hospitals such as The Animal Hospital Murdoch University Equine Hospital and the Equine Dental Referral Clinic.
Tom often teams up with Dr Clinton Float of Pegasus Equine Dentistry, particularly on trips to regional WA where there are large numbers of horses to see.

In 2015, Tom established Perth Horse Dentistry with the goal of providing dedicated, high-quality equine dental care across Western Australia. Since then, the practice has grown to offer comprehensive equine dentistry services ranging from routine preventive care through to advanced oral surgery and complex surgical extractions.
Tom completed post-graduate studies in Equine Dentistry in 2016 and was awarded Membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (MANZCVS) in Veterinary Equine Dentistry a qualification recognising advanced knowledge and expertise in the field.
Today, Tom works closely with veterinary hospitals throughout Perth, providing referral dentistry and advanced surgical services for complicated dental cases. His caseload includes horses and donkeys of all ages and disciplines, from much-loved family ponies to elite performance and racing horses.
Tom is passionate about improving horse welfare through education, preventative dental care, and evidence-based treatment. He believes that good dental health plays a critical role not only in performance under saddle, but also in long-term comfort and quality of life.

Dr Kester Ryan

Dr Kester Ryan joined Perth Horse Dentistry & Veterinary Services in 2023, bringing with her a strong background in equine veterinary medicine, surgery, and performance horse care.
Originally graduating from Murdoch University in 2014, Kester went on to complete a prestigious surgical internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky, one of the world’s leading equine referral hospitals. Following her internship, she spent time working in equine practice in Colorado before returning home to Perth in 2017.
Since returning to Western Australia, Kester has worked extensively in both general and equine veterinary practice, developing a particular interest in equine health, dentistry, and patient care.
At Perth Horse Dentistry & Veterinary Services, she works alongside Dr Tom Hamilton providing comprehensive dental and veterinary care to horses across a wide range of disciplines from pleasure horses and ponies through to elite equine athletes.
Kester is known for her calm and compassionate approach with both horses and owners, and she is passionate about delivering practical, high-quality veterinary care that improves long-term health and performance outcomes.
Outside of work, Kester enjoys spending time with her family and remains highly competitive on the Ultimate Frisbee field whenever she gets the chance.
